Demystify complexity
Complex architecture should be explainable without pretending uncertainty is gone. I make the choices, constraints, consequences, and open questions visible.

I connect executive direction with architecture and implementation across data, cloud, and AI. I document decisions and reusable practices so teams and systems can keep improving beyond one project.

I use analytics, experimentation, and customer evidence to test assumptions. I provide context, feedback, and room for people to exercise judgment, build confidence, and take ownership.
Operating context
Most of my career has been spent where data systems meet regulated industries under commercial pressure. Close to a decade in financial services — building customer-experience measurement, audience identity, and marketing data infrastructure across banks at different scales and maturity levels. Then three years in luxury and fashion retail, directing analytics and applied AI at the scale of Zara, NET-A-PORTER, and Mytheresa, under multi-cloud data consolidation, governance, and fast-moving commercial demands. Since early 2026, directing cloud and applied AI architecture across EMEA at Microsoft.
The sectors change. The problem class stays consistent: how to build data and AI capability where compliance, legacy infrastructure, and commercial velocity pull against each other. The systems that hold — the architectures that outlast the projects that created them — are the ones that made those tensions legible rather than papering over them.
The independent work here is the other side of the same investigation. Building under real constraints, from first principles, with no budget for pretending the hard parts don't exist, keeps the professional work honest.
How to work with me
What works well
I build trust quickly with people who prepare well and own their commitments, think past their immediate task, and challenge with data rather than with authority. Holding transparency as a baseline and straight talk as a preference — that is where we move fast. My defaults are analysis before commitment, compounding solutions over one-off fixes, and measuring my success by the team's autonomy rather than my own involvement.
Where friction happens
I find it hard when accuracy or reliability become negotiable, when feedback consistently doesn't land, or when someone optimizes only their own square rather than the shared goal. Those patterns erode trust for me and are slow to rebuild. I'd rather name that up front than work around it silently.
Working across cultures and time zones
I work in hybrid models from Spain and collaborate with globally distributed teams. I adapt to different time zones, cultures, and operating needs through a deliberate mix of synchronous and asynchronous practices, keeping ownership, communication, and delivery expectations clear. My experience includes teams across regions such as Europe, China, the United States, Brazil, South Africa, and Australia, among others. I am open to considering relocation when the opportunity, challenge, conditions, and overall fit justify it.

A personal note
Outside work, I spend time with my family, travel, alternate between CrossFit and HYROX training, and experiment with 3D printing. They keep me curious, disciplined, and comfortable learning from the beginning.
